SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Ritchie Shortt & Tully LLP, Chartered Accountants, is a three Partner public accounting firm whose primary objective is to provide a wide range of accounting, auditing, income tax planning and compliance services to small and medium sized enterprises. Our diverse client base ranges from professional partnerships and owner-operated small businesses to aviation services, car dealerships, manufacturers, and non-profit organizations.

We currently have an immediate opportunity for a CA to join our team as a senior accountant. At Ritchie Shortt & Tully LLP we offer the flexibility to achieve your personal and career goals.

Your role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Engagement management – manage the completion of various files, primarily audit and review engagements
  • Monitoring and supervision of staff – responsible for overseeing work of junior staff and providing mentoring as needed
  • Completing corporate income tax returns

The successful candidate will bring current public accounting experience and the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years post CA qualification experience in a public accounting firm
  • Able to plan and perform a risk-based audit of private and not-for-profit clients
  • Consolidation experience is an asset
  • Experience completing corporate income tax returns
  • Ability to prioritize workload demands and multiple tasks as required
  • Works well in a team environment, including training junior staff
  • Strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Caseware/Caseview, and Profile/TaxPrep
